Matthew 22:37-40 “‘…Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Here Jesus says everything that was ever instructed in the law of Moses and by the prophets, He says, all I have ever asked of you is to love Me with the entirety of your being and love your neighbor as yourself.
What would a city look like, what could a city look like, where the people of God took these commandments seriously and had a God-given, strategic vision to do just that? Let us show you what we mean: Imagine where you live. Now for a moment, define who you consider to be your neighbors and what you consider to be your neighborhood. What would our neighborhoods look like if we all took this commandment literally, if we loved God and loved our neighbors?
Now, what if you had a community of people in your neighborhood to do this along side of. To love, care for, challenge, and inspire one another in our gifting, and to missionally, partner with God together in the renewal of your neighborhood. What if, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, we continually grew in our love of God, and we loved our neighbors? Day in and day out, we pray for them, we open our homes and are welcomed into theirs, we link our lives with them. We laugh with them and cry with them, we invest in their marriages and their kids, we visit them when they are sick and meet their needs as they arise. And, what if groups like this multiplied and spread covering our entire city, collectively loving every person who resides in our great city?
We believe this is a beautiful and God-ordained expression of the body of Christ and are growing into this every day. We would love for you to join us!
